About this project

This project envisions the creation of an integrated tourist complex and theme park in the coastal city of Assilah, Morocco. Strategically located near the Atlantic and within close proximity to major transportation hubs—including international airports, highways, and ports—the project aims to enhance the attractiveness of the northern region and boost its tourism potential.

The development is centered around a unique concept that combines hospitality, leisure, culture, and entertainment, inspired by the journeys of the historical traveler Ibn Battuta. The project is designed as a comprehensive destination that includes a 4-star hotel, a shopping mall, themed restaurants, residential bungalows, and a wide variety of amusement rides and water attractions.

The goal is to create a space that caters to families, youth, and international visitors, offering memorable experiences through modern infrastructure, quality services, and vibrant recreational facilities. The design of the complex reflects Moroccan architectural identity while integrating modern and functional elements to ensure comfort and sustainability.

A key aspect of the project is its contribution to local development. It is expected to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, encourage local entrepreneurship, and stimulate the tourism economy of Assilah and its surroundings. The investment also aims to attract both national and international tourism flows, reducing seasonal dependence and extending the tourist season year-round.

Environmentally, the project is planned with respect for local biodiversity and landscapes. The terrain’s natural features have been preserved and enhanced, integrating green spaces, pedestrian paths, and sustainable water management solutions. A protective infrastructure is also incorporated to manage potential flood risks.

Culturally, the project will support and promote the rich heritage of Assilah, already renowned for its artistic and cultural festivals. The architectural language and thematic concept of the attractions aim to celebrate the multicultural legacy of Ibn Battuta’s voyages across Andalusia, Africa, China, Egypt, India, and Persia.

The complex is intended as a model of inclusive tourism, with access designed for different social groups and age ranges. Ample parking, safe walkways, and a diverse mix of indoor and outdoor spaces ensure accessibility, safety, and comfort.

Ultimately, this project represents a new generation of tourism infrastructure in Morocco—anchored in tradition, yet boldly future-facing. It aligns with the national vision for sustainable tourism growth, positioning Assilah as a leading destination for cultural, ecological, and recreational tourism in the region.
